Primitive Tribe Development Project
East Singhbhum and Seraikela - Kharsawan district 15 centres.
Purpose
Since Primitive Tribal Groups constitute the most vulnerable section among tribals and inhabit isolated, remote and difficult areas in small and scattered hamlets/habitats, the project aims at planning their socio-economic development in a holistic manner by adopting habitat development approach and intervening in all spheres of their social and economic life, so that the quality of life of primitive tribal communities is improved and a visible impact is made.
Objective
- Upliftment of primitive tribal communities such as the Sabar and others for holistic development through different social welfare activities.
- To support primitive tribal children towards their education.
Initiative/Activities
- Provide coaching for disadvantaged primitive tribe children.
- Provide a peaceful environment for studying.
- Provide stationery and other study materials to the children as required.
- To mobilize and motivate the student and their parents for admission in nearby schools.
- To organize local festivals and celebrations at their doorstep.
- To conduct and organise community health camps at each centre.
Impact
- 100% school enrolment of primitive tribe students
- improvement in their level of education
- 100% improvement in their personal health and hygiene practices
- They are more confident and comfortable talking/meeting with other community members/children.
- Holistic development of primitive tribal students from 15 centres in east Singbhum Dist.
